Hey can somebody help me wid this problem
A radar antenna rotates at 15rpm.pulse width of 2us,beam width of 3deg. Two aircraft are flying towards the antenna at the same speed and initial range, but separated laterally by 1nm. At what range from the antenna will the radar first be able to distinguish between the two aircraft??

Sure, it's "with", th th th
But I'm sure you knew that :hmm: As for your actual question I'm afraid I haven't a clue. |
Ok, so after that scathing remark I thought I better help:
Maybe this link will help, I'm not sure which formula best fits your model (ie 1 mile behind each other or 1 mile next to each other) http://www.radartutorial.eu/druck/Book1.pdf |
Beam Width 3 degrees.
Aircraft 1 nm apart. Aircraft must not both be in the beam at the same time to appear as seperate targets. So 1 in 60 rule: 3 degrees equals 1 NM at 20 NM So targets must be 20 NM or less to appear as seperate targets to the radar. |
Hey..
Thank you for your responses...appreciate it.
