ATPL Online help

On ATPL online database, could anyone please explain to me how to practice questions from a particular topic within an exam?
For example, just to see questions on hydraulics within Air General Knowledge.
I don't understand the Para and Sub-para things within the system.
Thanks

If you go onto "how to get the most out of ATPL online" on the website home page and follow the links to the learning objectives, below is a direct link. At the bottom of the links page is post and pre NPA. These links take you to the JAA learning objectives lists and explaines the topics within each subject relating to a specific learning objective. You are interested in the middle 2 sets of numbers which you input into the learning objective boxes when searching for questions on the database. This then brings up all the questions linked to that learning objective.

Hope this helps and is what you were after, I think AGK systems is under LO 021.

I'm now subscribing to aviationexam.com for that very reason. It allows you to practise all questions for a particular topic. Also lets you take a test and shows you a breakdown of results by topic so you can identify weak areas. Using both ATPLonline and aviaitionexam.com is working well for me at the moment.

thanks tiger88, i eventually figured that out last night but im still confused as sometimes that method just doesnt bring up any questions at all. any ideas why this is?
is there anywhere with a better short list without those huge documents too?
thanks again

I have yet to find a simpler more user friendly way with ATPL online but it has worked for me so far. It may be worth asking the ATPL online guys. Aviationexam.com as taxistaxing mentioned is a more user friendly system.

Unfortunately just because a particular learning objective is listed as a subject area by the authorities there's no guarantee that any exam questions have ever been written on that topic!

So if you call up a particular LO in ATP Online and you get no questions that's because in the past 8 years none have been seen in the exams!

Hope that helps?

Cheers

Tiger 88, I assume you're on the new syllabus? How have you found the questions on atplonline stack up against what you get in the actual exam? I've heard great things about it for the old syllabus exams but don't know anyone else whose used it for new syllabus exams...

Cheers.

It's been pretty good to be honest. Still getting questions that i have seen on the question bank come up in the actual exams. I think there are still some old syllabus questions on the ATPL question bank but generally speaking its a good indication of what to expect. Thankfully I have not had any badly translated European questions come up in the actual exams, let's hope it stays that way!
