Airline Careers Academy Orlando flying school Pro Pilot Programme
 

I want to do the Pro Pilot Programme, I have done an advanced search (title only) for this and nothing come up for: Airline careers academy and when I searched "entire post" was alot of results but most unrelated.

A google search only came up with these 2 links which aren't very helpful

Please if you could give me any info about this Flight school (in particular the Pro pilot programme), or a different Flight School that you think is better for the same price, or a usefull pprune link that gives you any information it would be most appreciated.

Schools are free to call their Commercial program anything they want;
Pro pilot
Career pilot
Airline pilot training
Advanced training
Or a combination of any of the above.
This means that searching on one particular search string is not going to give you a lot of results.

I have searched ACA, Airline Careers Academy and Pro Pilot Programme. All of which gave either no results, unrelated ones or the two that I previously stated (http://www.pprune.org/professional-p...-propilot.html and http://www.pprune.org/professional-p...19-newbie.html) which are not very helpful.

I got an email about this 'programme', it was sent from the old marketing guy from Cabair (the man who single handedly put me off giving my money to Cabair - so I guess I should be thankful to him really!).

It looks like something risen from the ashes of Cabair, I'd stay well clear.

What happened with cabair is indisputably terrible and my heart goes out to all those who were affected.

This may sound selfish but I am looking at this from a personal point of view and looks quite positive:

-I have had a look and the facilities look good; the planes, accommodation etc....

-You complete a MCC (Multi-Crew Co-operation Course) and JOC (Jet Orientation Course) with Pan Am using their sims. Plus a further week with Pan Am doing a airline preperation course

-The price is affordable and because I have completed my PPL I am getting a £6000 reduction plus a scholarship

-The deposit is small (£1000) plus you pay in small monthly payments (which are protected)

Please If anyone is currently studying there and has some input I would love to hear from you or anyone wants to highlight some negatives or just any input at all would be mostly appreciated.

Hi, if you want to know the true story of ACA and the pro pilot course search the Orlando Flight Training threads as its the same school under a different name.

I personally found the school alright it had its ups and downs and could do with a kick up its backside in some areas but what school doesnt right?

Hi punk666, I have looked at other threads which as stated are not very useful or a few years old I was looking for some up to date info.

Did you do your CPL at the school, is there any more info you could add and what are you doing now? Did you manage to get a job ok if at all?

I happened to visit the ACA stand yesterday at the Flyer show and they are a joke.

I also have it on good authority that they are using airline logos without permission and have been asked to remove the images from their website but have not yet done son.

Hi timeforclarity, can you expand on what you mean by they are a joke?

To the others, i know what happened at cabair was really bad but the deal put forward to me is a £1000 deposit, with monthly payments of roughly £4000.

I really wish someone would give some clear feedback about what the school is like now and the facilities and structure of the course rather than just statements with no facts or talking about the past. I am trying hard to choose the correct school and the feedback up to now has been lacking substance.

Any info positive or negative would be most appreciated, if explained.

I too was looking at this school, and it all seemed a bit too good to be true. Until recently though, it seemed quite concrete, but I have heard a good few horror stories. Now that I've learnt that S. England was actually associated with Cabair, it has got me shaking a little.

When you look at the structure of the course at ACA, you do six months of ATPL - all the while spending about £5k per month depending what deal the bloke has swung with you. He's struck a £5k deal with me, meaning I'd be spending £30k on the ATPLs alone!

True, hours building is done at the same time, though this only rings a few more bells because if you're flying, it may not allow you to focus entirely on passing your written exams, and, from what I've heard the hours building isn't particularly fantastic - airlines don't see flying circles over Florida to be productive enough to count.

p.s; ... also, not that it will concern too many of you I'm sure, ACA have dropped the iPad from their course - but it looks so damn good!!
