EASA FCL: CPL prerequisites
 

With the new rules, it seems that you must have flown 6 hours on a multi-engine aircraft to have a CPL issued.
Is it just poor wording, or is it a brand new thing?

FCL.315 CPL — Training course
An applicant for a CPL shall have completed theoretical knowledge instruction and flight instruction at an ATO, in accordance with Appendix 3 to this Part.

12. The applicant for a CPL(A) shall have completed at least 200 hours flight time, including at least:
(...)
(d) 6 hours of flight time shall be completed in a multi-engine aeroplane.

Correct. you must have completed at least 6 hours flight training in a multi-engined aeroplane, even if the skill test is completed in a single. Doesn't seem much point in doing a SE CPL, does there?

Wow, this is extremely confusing. What is the point of doing a single engine CPL if you need 6 hours multi time for it to be issued? And 6 hours consisting of what? It doesn't state you need your MEP rating just plain old logged hours. My other question would be what if you start CPL training before EASA take affect on 8th April 2012? Surely you wouldn't be required to do the 6 hours because the new standards are not valid at the time of starting the course. If anyone can shed anymore light on this situation that would be great.
