JAR OR FAA
:uhoh::ugh:
hi guys i'm new to this forum. I'm from bahrain and i would like to know which of the certificates are approved by the bahrain civil aviation authority?? Any good aviation schools recommended.:( |
Hi and welcome aboard!
Regarding your first question: I'd suggest to get in touch with the Bahrain CAA and get that cleared with them - see following link: Civil Aviation Affairs, Kingdom of Bahrain Regarding flight training - to give you a general idea: In Euro-Land (JAA) the training is very theory-loaded and bureaucratic. In the US (FAA) the training focuses more on hands-on experience, relates more to real life, and is less bureaucratic. The following list contains links to flight schools – both FAA (US) and JAA (EU): Welcome - FlightSafety Academy Training Courses & Services | Oxford Aviation Academy - OAA.com Orlando Flight Training, your pilot training school located in Kissimme, Florida Scandinavian Aviation Academy Inc |
The Bahrain Civil Aviation authority like the other civil aviation authorities in the middle east are all JAR based
The airlines also prefer JAR based licenses for someone without any experience For eg: Qatar airways does not accept FAA CPL holders as second officers or first officers . But they will accept a full FAA ATP license which one obtains upon 1500 hours flying But Qatar airways will accept someone with 250 hours and passes in all ATPL subjects as a second officer ( some more flying experience required for first officers ) from other aviation authorities . Preference is given to JAA . They even accept Indian DGCA :eek: So in your case i would strongly suggest getting a JAR license Some famous schools out there are Oxford Aviation , FTE Jerez ( trains emirates and qatar cadet pilots ) , CTC wings The above 3 schools have also been selected by British Airways for their cadet pilot program I think Gulf Aviation Academy based out of Bahrain has a partnership with oxford aviation Perhaps you should have a look there -:: Gulf Aviation Academy ::- |
