Stapleford Assessment ??

Hi There,

Was flicking through Stapleford Flight centre FAQ's and it mentions something about a Assessment for those considering the Zero Hours to - B737, but it links it to the Zero hours to Frozen ATPL on there site. I was just wondering has anyone experienced these tests? As it doesn't seem to be in their brochure I was given at the Flyers Exhibition or on the brochure on their website, so I'm kind of interested about the tests, as I haven't seen anything about Stapleford's assessment on PPrune.

Thanks for your time. :ok: :ok:

Regards,

L0wFly3r.

I don't think there is an assessment as such

Hmm maybe, But here is the link : Commercial and Private Pilot Flight Training, Flying Lessons, Gift Experiences - Stapleford Flight Centre, London, UK It's the second from last question.

jet flight are used only for the 737TR. when i spoke to them directly the guy there told me they shouldn't have been mentioned in the SFC site.

I'm sure all you do is the zero-ATPL course then they send you off to jet flight for the 737TR. the assessment is probably just for the ATPL course like other FTOs.

Thanks for the reply AndoniP! But i thought modular FTO's didn't do entry exams? :\

I'm attending their open day tommorow. I'll ask about it for you.

Thanks Billy...:ok::ok:

They said the assessment is only for people going from zero hours to the 100 hours line training with Astraeus. Their instructors were saying that they'd know within 5-6 hours through your PPL if you've got the aptitude for it.

Ahh thats interesting... Thanks Billy for finding out for us...:ok:

That project is at the moment dead in the water, nothing happening there. Has been talk of that since January, clock is still ticking!

Also it works out pretty expensive, it works out cheaper to go with Eagle Jet if you thinking of that.
They do however say they will have their own assessment if it ever gets of the ground, and more importantly you are playing russian roulette lottery, maybe 2 of 30 will get a job, after spending close to £30K - and just 100 hours on type!

pudoc 28th May 2011 23:04

Yeah their 737 program is definitely something I'd steer away from. 30k later, I'm back at square one. Trying to find a job.

L0wFly3r 29th May 2011 07:22

Something like that Astraeus scheme i would steer clear of.

LOwFly3r please please stay well clear of Stapleford Flight Centre and listen to billywhu!

There is a lot of misrepresentation there and they will sound nice to start with and turn Nasty once you are in too deep!

Go somewhere else

Please explain your self. It doesn't sound like the Stapleford Flight Centre where I got my CPL and ME/IR.

I never said stay away from SFC, I just don't like the sound of their 737 program because it's another pay 2 fly scheme.

I still plan to do my CPL MEIR at SFC.
