Should i spend more money?
 

Hi everyone,

I have a "small" question....
I am almost finishing my course (ATPL (frozen)).
Now i'm thinking about my future...
With 35 i think i'll need to think fast!
First comes the MCC course. Is it worth to spend 6500€ in CAE Ryanair MCC? I´m able to pay the MCC and also the TR.
Are there any jobs (around the world) for someone with my age? Because i see lot's of people talking about the lack of jobs but i also see that they don't want to leave their countries.....
Too many rumours are filling our forums and i'm getting more and more disappointed...

I do not really think your age is a problem.
I don't understand what's the offer with CAE Ryanair. Have they offered you also TR amd LT?
6500 euro for a MCC is too much IMO, so I'd suggest you to get MCC and JOC at OAA, or if you want only MCC you can find the same course for less, really really less. For example at Kavala you can get it for just 2500 euro.

I will look for your advise. At this point, i don't know how important is the place where you get your MCC.
It's obvious that 6.500€ is a lot of money, but considering that having spent almost 60.000€ until today and spending like 2000€ more than "normal" to get an MCC and having more chances to get a job, would it be a good bet? Or is it the next "bubble" to explode? (there is lot's of people trying Ryanair, and i don't really know how many pilots are training there and what are the real needs of the company...it sure is a good deal for them!!!!

Once you have frozen ATPL you are not really employable as there are heaps of people with the same qualifications but no experience going for non-existant vacancies.
You might have to front up the cash for TR and even LT to guarantee a job.

I suggest you to dothe MCC in a A320 o B737CL or NG full motion simulator.
I don't know if it really makes any difference, but I would like to do it with one of these simulator.
Now, the situation out there isn't very likely for the new pilots, so the Jabiman's suggest semms to be, sadly, the right way to go.
I have always considered the the instructor path, but here in Europe it seems that nobody will take care about you even if you have more than 3000 TT on SEP and MEP. And there are not so many regional airlines...

But my biggest concern is there are lots of people with TR and LT at home...
Nowadays is difficult to understand what are the market needs.
Going for a TR and LT can be a good move, but if you go for the wrong one?
It looks easy..choose a A320 or B737, like all the other thousands out there...so where is your advantage?????:suspect:

The prime advantage is if you do the LT with an airline that guarantees you a FO position afterwards.

But the only company i know that's doing that at the moment is Ryanair...

Did they offer you MCC course, TR and LT for almost 29k euro?
Have you tried their cadet program thourgh CAE?

Through CAE you could try Wizz Air Cadet program as well, and the price is almost the same...
There's also a program with Air Asia and Indigo.

If you have been offered the cadet course and passed the selection I suggest you to get it!
I would probably do it.

I have a friend of mine here in Italy who now works with Ryanair.
He flown for 6 moths for the LT, then after this six months they offered him a 5 years contract.

Try also Sunwing* in Turkey.

Forget CAE, to keep a long story short, terrible! Pilot provisioning has a lot to answer for. They'll take your money all right, but thats it!!!Great training but as far as REAL job links, none. The Ryanair thing they do is differnet as Ryan themselves will select you!!!!
