Money to be made?

I have an option to take 24 moths off an go back to school for '12 & '13. I have always had an interest in flight so I thought it would be nice to get my pilots licence. I don't have any high hopes of flying anything huge or loaded with lots of people. I was thinking something in the shipping / cargo arena. another thing I have going is I am not married & no kids. Jobs in far off, rural or dangerous places Like Alaska, the Arctic, south america, Asia & the like are no big deal.

Is it worth a shot? should I look elsewhere?
Any advice will help, thanks for reading.

I think we'll need some more info here.
You said go back to school, what kind of school?
What is your back ground now?
Why wouldn't you have high hopes for a career in aviation?
It will take about 6 months to go from zero-Commercial and about another three months for all your instructor ratings.
Work a year as an instructor and you could be heading for the Airlines by the time 2013 rolls around.

I can go to any school I want for the most part, I qualify for some (not all) federal assistance thanks to O'bama. I have Money saved for school & Living for 24 months on top of what the feds will give me. I was going to start simple, ground school @ Community Collage & go from there. Think I am going to learn Spanish & French also.

Right now I am in sales. It pays good but I am no longer passionate about my work. To be blunt, I am in a rut. The money I have saved is part of my 5 yr. plan for retirement, But I'm only 29.

As far as the hopes thing, what I was driving @ was I'm not looking for allot of responsibility Or an absurd amount of money. I am a vet, served in Afghanistan with the 101st. & I miss the rush, I'd like something right on the ragged edge. Something most pilots would say is "Risky". I wanted to Make the Warrant Officer program and fly helicopters. My military career was cut short due to an injury suffered in The line of duty.

Making it simple would be to say, I'm not only looking for a job but an adventure.:E
