MEIR Flight test, couple questions

Does the applicant log the test as PIC? Also is there a minimum time the test should last?

Thanks for any help, I've had a search on here, looked through JAR FCL1 and also the caa site but couldn't find specific answers.

The examiner is the Pilot in Command. You log either as PICUS or P.u/t. Look up LASORS on the CAA website.

:) PASS
  1. Examiner name for PIC.
  2. PICUS for holder's operating capacity.
  3. Time in P1/solo column.
  4. Champagne smudged 'MEIR ST - Pass' in comments section.
  5. Sexy SRG\1178 into frame to hang on khazi door.
:( PARTIAL and FAILURE
  1. Examiner name for PIC.
  2. PU/T for holder's operating capacity.
  3. Time in P2/dual column.
  4. Tear smudged 'Refly; bugger' in comments section.
  5. Sexless SRG\1178 in the recycling bin.
LAS, Section A, Appendix B, case J.

 No minimum time; maximum time limited to endurance minus factors.

Simples!

Nicely put wheelbrace.

How come so many pilots get to the level of experience of an IR and still don't know how to fill in a logbook?

Here goes...

'How come so many pilots get to the level of experience of an IR and still don't know how to fill in a logbook?'

Surprising, I know, but there are people out there who should know better. You ask them when you are low houred, wet behind the ears and naive. Whatever their reasons, you follow their instruction, fill your logbook incorrectly and - presto - come the reckoning with the CAA, you discover that they knew jack, took your money to fill PIC hours and the only comeback is to you and your wallet. The CAA are totally disinterested in educating the monkeys and it is up to you to rectify others' hubris/dishonesty.

Rant over.

Out.

If you buy the CAP407 logbook then the instructions are all inside!

Those that train/hour build outside the UK have to be very careful as FAA and JAA have different approaches to P1 time. If you're going to apply for a JAA qualification then it has to be logged under JAA rules.

Cheers!

Read this lot and learn it.
If you fail you log PUT.

Thanks for the answers all.

Awesome contribution:D

I didn't really ask how to fill in a logbook, it was a specific question which wheelbraces helpful post shows there's a couple of answers to. I had an idea it went in as PIC but wanted to be certain as I'm away finishing off my hour building at the moment. Just being careful as you suggested in a later post.
