No more writing Atpl subjects before Cpl ones?

I hear rumours that in South Africa a new law is in process. With your PPL you won't be able to write ATPL subjects until you write CPL subjects and pass them all. Is this true?

Yet another thread that I haven't got a clue what's it all about!!

Woodpecker the post above means: At present for someone to write Atpl subjects he/she needs to be a PPl or Cpl holder. What I hear is 'they' want to change into another system in which a PPl holder can not be registered to write Atpl subjects. Only those with Cpl will be legible to register and write Atpl subjects.

I thought that was already in effect, when i finished my PPL in South Africa i was told that i needed to complete the CPL before attempting the ATP subjects.
I know here in Oz we need the CPL subjects before we can attempt the ATPL :ugh:
