Using Bristol QB Offline?

Hi All,

I will soon be doing my final 7 exams at Shuttleworth but will be staying in a military base near by to keep costs down. The only snag is a severe lack of internet access at said base during the evenings.

Is there anyway that the QB can be stored "offline" for later access? I know that once a set of questions have been downloaded then one can continue to finish the mock even when the internet has become disconnected. This leads me to believe that it may be possible to save each random mock that one creates for later?

Any ideas?

Very dull I know. Thanks!

I don't think there's anyway to store them as such.

When I was at Gatwick for the last set, I didn't have internet access every day at the hotel, so at the test centre i used the free internet there to open all the databases i needed in full, put my laptop into hibernate, and they were all still open when i re-started my laptop at the hotel.

the only problem is you then don't get the Info if you don't know the answer, or the pop up annexes, so useless for Gen Nav.

Thanks RTN not an ideal solution but a bloody good idea! If all else fails then that is the way forward. Cheers chap!

I recommend a Vodafone USB Modem if you have a laptop. You should get broadband speed (check coverage map just to be safe). Don't have to pay for a contract.

TopUp And Go ? Mobile Broadband ? Vodafone

Would that be Chicksands????!!! :ok:

Although it's not the Bristol database but the Italian QB, these can all be downloaded in .pdf and might help.

There is an offline copy of DB Version 2 floating around that can be installed via a simple disk. Obviously Alex wont be happy to hear that but someone was bound to crack it sooner or later. God knows how they've done it but they have. Some IT guys may have an idea but the point is it works. It doesnt update at all but to be honest it really is hardly any different to the Online version. Most people I know at GS use both. Offline when there's a severe lack of internet i.e at groundschool during the day.

Just on the off chance Alex reads this....If it's any consolation 99% of us also have paid for online login's to use to online DB when at home and during exam week.
