Calculator in Navigation Exam?

Hi. I was under the impression that all calculations for the ATPL's had to be done with the CRP-5. However, on starting the course - with all the use of sin & cos in calculating convergence etc - surely calculators must be allowed?

Take a look at this CAA document. It states what you're allowed in the exams.

http://www.caa.co.uk/docs/175/Examin...c%201%20v3.pdf

Specifically:
A scientific, non-programmable, non-alphanumeric calculator without aviation specific functions.

Good luck with the exams!
