Fairoaks Flying Schools

What is available at Fairoaks as it is the closest airport to me.

Thanks

How much money ya got?

Seriously, i have only been in there a few times, but from what i have heard its quite expensive. I heard one of the Chelsea footballers was learning there.

Anyway, where abouts do you live cause there may be other options too.

What is the name of the school?

FX Flyboy 11th Aug 2008 18:27

Synergy Aviation: 08456-747 747

the above links you to the school website. last time I checked they charged well over 100 quid per hour dual.

Why don't you pop down there and see for yourself? It's easiest to get there over the M25, but I'm sure you can navigate your way there best.

Regards

Hi,
Check out: The Synergy Gateway
I think the prices on the website is a little dated. I think the last time I checked you have to add about £5-£10 p/h to it.

They have very nice planes. 2 C152's, 5 Warriors, 1 Archer III, 1 Arrow & 1 dodgy Cherokee 180 etc. (ugly but very good availability!)

Membership is not too expensive.
Have a look on line, they have nice pictures of each plane :ok:
Oh, G-BFMG is featured in the new Today's Pilot Magazine.

A/C HIRE:

Cessna 152 £110/hr
Piper Warrior PA28-161 £165/hr
Piper Archer III £180/hr
Piper Arrow IV £190/hr

GROUND INSTRUCTION:

PPL Flight Instruction £20/hr
PPL Ground Instruction/IMC £30/hr
Instruction (in non FFC Aircraft) £35/hr

I went up there today to look at renewing my SEP.

The price list I got is as follows.

A/C HIRE:

Cessna 152 £135/hr
Piper Warrior PA28-161 £175/hr
Piper Archer III £185/hr
Piper Arrow IV £195/hr

GROUND INSTRUCTION:

PPL Flight Instruction £25/hr
PPL Ground Instruction/IMC £35/hr
Instruction (in non FFC Aircraft) £35/hr

So a little more than Echokiloecho posted.. I actually did some of my PPL there a few years back and thought it was really good.. Although it's a lot more expensive now :-)

The reason for Fairoaks is because it is easy to get to. Train from Wimbledon Station to Woking Station direct.

Redhill/Bigginhill isn't so direct and takes longer.

Thanks

SparksFlyHigh 18th Aug 2008 08:37

Are you going to walk from Woking station to Fairoaks? Good luck....

EchoKiloEcho 23rd Aug 2008 11:12

Ha-Ha! That was funny! Yes, it is quite a long walk. There are taxis though.

Weybridge & Brookwood stations are probably the same distance. Sunningdale not too far either. All about 10 mins drive.

SparksFlyHigh 26th Aug 2008 12:43

I would pick you up from woking and take you there each lesson if you do it in an arrow and i can back seat for 45 hours :ok:

SparksFlyHigh 26th Aug 2008 12:45

I wouldnt really advise Brookwood station unless you really like walking.
