JAA ME CPL in USA

I have JAA PPL with SE IR and ATPL theory.

Please recommend good JAA FTO in USA for doing ME CPL.

Naples Air Center?

I have not been there myself, but I have a couple of friends that have gone to Naples Air Center in FL. They say it was ok. It seems they have been a bit crowded lately by the comments here http://www.pprune.org/forums/showthread.php?t=324948

Maybe we can get some one who is there at the moment can comment on how are things going over there.

Their page is http://www.naples-air-center.com

zooom 29th May 2008 12:38

I have made contacts with Naples, just waiting them to send me FTO and TRTO certificates to check do they have vaild JAA approval.

zooom 29th May 2008 13:36

Also OBA (http://www.flyoba.com) has quite a lot of details on their web site.

Anybody, what are impressions?

zooom 30th May 2008 18:52

What about European flight training EFT ( www.flyeft.com ) ?
Has anbody been there?

zooom 2nd Jun 2008 10:15

What about ADCJET Florida, www.adcjet.com

Has anybody been there or heard about them?

Privatairdreaming 2nd Jun 2008 11:32

I would strongly recommend that you stay away from EFT.

Based on my experiences I would stay away from EFT as when I was there I was told nothing but lies regarding my flight training. I would show up at the airport at 7 to fly at 8 and 9 times out of 10 the instructor would not show up until around 10am. I was not the only one in this situation. You will then be told that the aircraft has gone tech shortly followed by the school is closed for the day with no explanation given to the students and you would not be told if the school would be operating the follwing day until you get up for the first flight and arrive at the airport to find the EFT office door locked. I allowed over a month to get my CPL done and after 36 days I only completed 1/3 of the course. this is only my experiences.

andycool 2nd Jun 2008 17:29

Hi zoom, I am too after the adcjet in vero, I have been trying to search some testimonials but not luck, I have been speking to the owner that seems a nice guy, and told me some infos about the course and the prices that seems great for a JAR license its about 28000 euros! trying to find out some more infos from someone from the local area, so if someone from there or that knows the school please let us know some infos
thanks

From what I gather after speaking with the CAA about monies owed to me by EFT, I am under the impression that they no longer hold any JAR approvals, and have not since 31 March of this year. I checked the CAA approved FTO section today, and the school was still listed as a training provider. I asked the CAA about this and they said the FTO list needs to be updated to reflect this, but has not been updated as of yet.

So, if you decide on EFT, be positive that are ALLOWED to train you.

Flight school JAR approved?

How can I check if the adcjet is allowed to issue JAR certification? please help I have been contacted but I want to be sure that everything will be valid once back in europe!

Tex® 3rd Jun 2008 10:05

Naples is OK

I've been there for my PPL. Yes, is a bit crowded now, but still can provide good standards. Avoid EFT. I heard bad stories lately...
For a complete list of CAA approved FTO providing JAA training both in Europe and US follow this link :

Ciao

I belive that ADCJET works under itallian JAA CAA, cause I don't find them under UK CAA.

TEX, you've been there, tell us little about their organisation.

andycool 3rd Jun 2008 11:20

ADCJET school approved JAR or not?

Ok so I checked in the link of the approved school but I didnt find it so what does it mean? is it possible that being a new school its still not being inserted between the approved ones? what can I do to know more about this ADCJET school?

zooom 3rd Jun 2008 11:27

ADCJET is owned by Italian, maybe he is under Italian CAA. Since you are Italian, check your CAA regarding that.

andycool 3rd Jun 2008 12:22

I am trying to find the link on the web but cant find it, anyway if its approved by Italy wich is under JAR will be valid also for UK right?

Keygrip 3rd Jun 2008 12:24

ADCJET

Whether approved or not, do you not find the promotion of this school somewhat scary?

I've not seen (though not *lloked for* any advertisemnets for this school. I've never heard of this school outside of PPRuNe. The only promotion for them I can find (in a simle/short search) is the website.

A telephone number and an unclear e-mail address (by that, I mean "no name")....unless the guy is called Mr. Dom Volo.

No address and just one telephone number for a personal Nextel cell phone that does not give any details when run through "Reverse lookup" - no fax?

Training page starts with block hours rates for aircraft rental of a single engine aircraft at $160 per hour - presumably solo. Is that a "deal"? I think not.

A twin is available at $300 an hour for 100 hours at block rates. I pay $220 an hour for a twin, ad hoc. That a deal? I think not.

The web site says they have PA44 Seminole and PA34 Seneca - they show thumbnail pictures of PA34 Seneca and BE76 Duchess - so not pictures of their own aircraft then? Why not? The single engine picture shows a skyhawk - not the advertised 150.

Any pictures or listings of the equipment (and "inop" stickers) of the individual aircraft that they can find for you? No!

Any clickable links to the aircraft? No!

Integrated training it says!! So full time, residential groundschool too - wow, at a company that does not appear to have an office that you can visit, nor a fax machine? Wonder where the classroom is, where are the instructors? What's their background and experience?

Page two - aircraft sales. The guy's a broker then? Buy aircraft at below value from the seller and sell it on to a buyer at above market value....or put the buyer directly in touch with the seller and hope for a commission/back hander from a grateful seller?

I assume the aircraft are not the property of adcjet or they would be available for doing turbine transition ratings on their fleet. No?

Page three: Charter. "We provide through our associates..." So, we don't actually *do* charters - we just pass the trip onto somebody else in return for a commission payment.

Citation and Learjet - pictures of Beech76, Seneca and Cessna 172.

Page four: Simulators. List of advanced training courses available at their offices in Colorado and Orlando? No - list of commercially available courses for anyone with the visa and TSA clearance (mentioned?) to complete at FlightSafety International or Simcom. Not adcjet.

Page five: Partnerships. I'll not tell you my name or address - but I would like you to give me money to call yourself a partner in my brokerage and referal business?

Six: Contact. Two non-descript e-mail links and no address for an integrated flight school with JAA accreditation?

I wouldn't trust this outfit - based on this information - with a phone call, never mind training funds.

I'll do some more homework and let you know shortly.

andycool 3rd Jun 2008 12:35

Thanks a lot Keygrip! that's exactly what is not clear about this school, however I have been on the telephone with this guy 2 times his name is Domenico and is the owner of the school, to be onest it seems to be a nice guy, they dont have feedback and nobody knows them because the school is starting to run from only 2 years and He probably included the JAR training only this year, however to be honest its quite tempting because for the full training including 14 exams atpl so from ppl to Atpl the cost is 42.000 dollars about 28.000 euros! Hope to get more infos anyway.

Tex® 3rd Jun 2008 15:02

Zooom,
NAC is after all a good school. Not a big fleet (around 15/20) : C152, 172, Arrow, one Seminole and one Archer. Now they also own a Cirrus SR20.
I do not have many complaints to do apart for some lack of organization in the school which is literally FULL of students from all over Europe (this is quiet common in the crowded market of Florida flight schools). And I guess they need some extra JAA-instrcuctors as well...
I don't really know how long does it takes for a ME-CPL. Best thing is to give them a call and see what they say.
If you PM to me I can give you some reference.

Ciao

I have found Treasure Coast Pilot Academy!?

http://www.flytcpa.com/JAA_commercial_pilot.php

On some links they are connected with OFT (Orlando flight training).
Is it the same school or what?

Anybody?
