Dash8 vs ATr42

With an ATPL, 5,500 hours including 500 multi two crew turbine time, 41 years old (but don't look a day over 50), what do you think. Dash8 or ATR42 self sponsored type rating? Which is more widely used? Thanks.

More Dash8's but better first job prospects on the ATR..

With that experience, I'm really surprised you need to fund a TR.

In answer to your question, I agree with WWW.

Could potentially walk straight into a LHS position with a certain Dash operator with those hours - no TR required.

Thanks for your replies, I'm just about to undertake the ATPL exams (attending a course) and once finished should have a full ATPL. Were you refering to any specific company?
See you up there.

If you're looking for UK based Dash 8 operators, it's a fairly short list . . .

Just to start you off:
www.flybe.com
www.airsouthwest.com

(if that doesn't count as advertising) :p
