M1 Visa check list.

hello, as the pprune search engine is  and I can't find anything relating to M1 (it wont let me search less than 3 letters) I was hoping someone could post up a M1 Visa checklist that I could run through before going for the inital interview. Anyone with past experience of getting a visa for the first time would be good.

Also worth noting for the future, whilst the built-in search engine here limits you - there is a workaround using Google.

Obviously doesn't have the same options, but you could do a search such as "M1 visa checklist site:pprune.org" (http://www.google.co.uk/search?ie=UT...e%3Apprune.org) which results in the helpful link given by the previous poster as the second result.

Can be useful, especially when the site is running slowly.

Just come back from mine, incidentally my third visit to the lovely US Embassy in London.
You will need,
  • I20 from the school, signed by the school and you
  • A confirmation letter from the school stating the category of a/c you will be using for training
  • Visa interview confirmation letter
  • SEVIS receipt
  • Passport
  • 1 passport photo stuck to one of the forms (can't remember which)
  • Forms DS-156, DS-157,DS-158
  • Evidence of your means of support/paying for course
  • Lots of patience (if in London)
  • Some newspapers to read (I took three, and it still wasn't enough to keep me going)
All covered in link above though. My experience lasted approx. 3 hours.
5 minutes of talking to the staff at the interview, 2'55" waiting.
