Flying in the US and exchange rates

Has anyone felt they've been stiffed by a US based FTO on exchange rates? One school I know wants me to pay upfront in USD at an exchange rate of 2.15. Given that the current exchange rate is 1.97 or thereabouts, this will add around an extra £500 to a PPL course.

Bit confused :confused::confused:

If you are buying a course in USD is it not cheaper if they offer an exchange rate of 2.15 viz 1.97 $/£

E.G if the course is $us 5,000

@ 2.15 cost is £2,325

& @ 1.97 cost is £2,538

So at 2.15 you save £213 :}
