Has anybody done this?

I need convert my FAA ATP w/Type rating to CAA-issued JAA ATPL with my type rating converted as well (the full conversion, not the G-only conversion). I have completed all the 14 theo exams and have studied LASORS extensively.

Since I already have 1500 hrs in 2-crew aircraft and more than 500on type, I need to pass an ATPL sim check with a CAA examiner in order to have my ATP converted.

Has anybody done this? How exactly do you go about scheduling the CAA exam ride and the simulator? I don't think there are any CRJ simulators in the UK (I believe Germany or Spain would be the closest ones), do I have to pay for the CAA examiner's travel expenses?

If any of you have gone through this process or know anyone who has, I would appreciate any detains/info.

Thank you in advance for your replies.
