revalidate typerating
Goodafternoon,
When a typerating (JAR) B737-300/900 has been expired since 10-12-06, what does it take to revalidate it again. Is this correct : 1 Training session 2 hours + 1 prof check 2 hours (full flight sim) Brgds, F_S |
Nah, you just need the prof check. There's no formal training required but the 2 hours sim prep before hand would be a good idea i would think...its amazing how rusty you get.
Best regards MP :ok: |
Thanx for your fast reply,
but according my information JAR requires a trainingsession when the type rating has expired more than the validity date but less then 1 year. And when its more than 1 year but less than 3 you need 3 trainingsessions? (or do I have it wrong?) |
Okay, this is from LASORS which is the UK CAA's published book of rules and regulations. Although it isn't gospel im pretty sure these rules shown here are correct and conform to JAA standards. If there is any doubt then you should contact your national Aviation Authority.
:ok: F4.4 RENEWAL OF TYPE RATINGS (AEROPLANES) Where licence holders have been unable to renew a MPA Type Rating for a period not exceeding 5 years from the date of expiry, they will be required to complete the following requirements: i. The CAA will require no mandatory additional training. Applicants should complete training at their own discretion sufficient to pass the proficiency check. ii. Complete a Proficiency Check in accordance with Appendix to JAR-FCL 1.240. For renewal of an instrument rating, please refer to Section E1.5. iii. A UK Authorised Examiner can sign the Certificate of Revalidation page (FCL150CJAR) within a UK national pilot’s licence. An Examiner qualified in accordance with JAR-FCL (in any fully compliant JAA Member State) can sign a Certificate of Revalidation page within a JAR licence. The LST/ LPC form, completed as a renewal, should be sent to CAA PLD. iv. The CAA will charge no fee provided that the Examiner signs the C of R. Where licence holders have been unable to renew a MPA Type Rating for a period exceeding 5 years from the date of expiry*, they will be required to complete the following requirements: i. Complete the Proficiency Check in accordance with Appendices 1 & 2 or 3 to JAR-FCL 1.240 and 1.295. The course completion certificate gives the TRTO/FTO the opportunity to indicate what refresher training has been completed. v. The completed form should be sent to CAA PLD together with the appropriate fee as per the Scheme of Charges. vi. The Examiner should make no licence entry. For renewal of an instrument rating, if held, please refer to Section E1.5. * Where an applicant can show that they are currently flying under the privileges of an ICAO licence, and are flying the same aircraft type/class within their UK or JAR-FCL licence, the renewal requirements will be based on the expiry date of the rating currently being exercised. |
Thanx for the information! :)
Is there someone outthere who has got the JAR version of this? In case the CAA's requirements are different? F_S This is what I found: JAR FCL 1.245(e) (f) Expired Ratings (1) If a type rating or multi-engine class rating has expired, the applicant shall meet any refresher training requirements as determined by the Authority and complete a proficiency check in accordance with Appendices 1 and 2 or 3 to JAR–FCL 1.240. The rating will be valid from the date of completion of the renewal requirements. So still no answer :-( And nice to know... SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS FOR THE SKILL TEST/PROFICIENCY CHECK FOR A MULTI-PILOT AEROPLANE AND FOR THE SKILL TEST REQUIRED FOR THE ATPL(A) 9 The test/check for a multi-pilot aeroplane shall be performed in a multi-crew environment. Another applicant or another pilot, may function as second pilot. If an aeroplane, rather than a simulator, is used for the test/check, the second pilot shall be an instructor. 10 An applicant shall be required to operate as ‘pilot flying’ (PF) during all sections of the test/check, except item 2.6 and abnormal and emergency procedures items 3.4.0 to 3.4.14 and items 3.6.0 to 3.6.9 which may be conducted as PF or PNF in accordance with Multi-Crew Co-operation (in accordance with Appendix 2 to 1.240 & 1.295). The applicant for the initial issue of a multi-pilot aeroplane type rating or ATPL(A) shall also demonstrate the ability to act as ‘pilot not flying’ (PNF). The applicant may choose either the left hand or the right hand seat for the test/check if all items in the test/check can be executed from the selected seat. |
Surely, you have answered your own question:
(1) If a type rating or multi-engine class rating has expired, the applicant shall meet any refresher training requirements as determined by the Authority.... You need to ask the Authority that issued your licence for their determination of the training requirements. The requirements of the UK (or any other) Authority are completely irrelevant. |
