MCC course next?
 

Hey all,

Im finishing my Frozen ATPL exams soon and now im wondering whats next?
Is the MCC course a must ? and will the studies ever end?

Can anyone recommend some good and hopefully cheap schools that provide MCC courses in europe?

I wonder the same thing...because somebodies say that the MCC can be done with a type rating, so it is not necessary doing it before.
But companies don't look at your CV without MCC...:confused:
By the way, what do you think about it : MCC on FNPT II or Full flight ?

If even been told by senior pilots that not even the multi-engine rating is required as long as you have the frozen atpl .. because they say that the company is going to type rate you anyway so you get the multi rating at the same time..

I hear soo many opinions not sure what to listen too..

You will need a M/E rating as holding a current and valid M/E Instrument Rating is a prerequisite for an initial type rating course. See Lasors F4.1

Does the aircraft you do it on play any role on how good the MCC is?

for instance will an airline like you more if you do the MCC on lets say a 737?

In the majority of cases you will need to have completed an MCC course to be considered for a job with the airlines. I am not sure if it's the same for other areas such as corporate flying.

I haven't found any preference from the airlines as to what type of sim you do it on, just that you have done it. I did mine on an FNPT II and it was good fun.

As LFS said, this is not true, you must have a Multi Engine IR.

Certainly not the MCC. The MCC is the last thing that you will need to do, prior to starting a type rating.

Not quite correct. You only need the M/E IR to be current to start a type rating. The MEP can have lapsed. However you do need a current MEP to get your initial IR issued.

So than what is next?

That's impossible to answer because you haven't said what you already have! Presumably, since you are approaching the end of the ATPL theoretical knowledge, you hold an ICAO PPL but what about the CPL?...IR?...MEP?

If you want the right answer on this forum, you need first to ask the right question!!

To answer your other questions -

The type of device used for the MCC course is totally irrelevant - the important thing is the quality of instruction and the currency of the instructors.

You must hold a valid (i.e re-validated in the last 12 months) MEIR on the day that you commence training for your first multi-pilot aeroplane type rating. (JAR-FCL 1.250(a)(2))

Well I have CPL/IR ME and CFII and i am used to the impression that to persue the frozen ATPL couse you should already have the above which is not the case.. Anyways I dont think there is anything left other than the MCC or am I incorrect?

What is popularly referred to as a 'frozen ATPL' comprises CPL, MEIR, ATPL knowledge credit and MCC. You are, therefore, correct - the only remaining element required in your case is the MCC course.
