ATIS

Im sorry if this is not the correct forum for this question, but i was unsure where to post it....... but.....

Is there any way of getting an Airports ATIS from home?

I live approx 60miles from Bournemouth, and it would be handy to know what the weather is doing there before leaving home and then finding out that my flying lesson has been cancelled due to poor weather conditions!

Thanks in advance for any answers to this!

Well yes that is the 'normal' solution, but i thought it would be good to hear the actual report for myself, so wondered if its possible?????

Can you get it by phone from home / online somewhere???

A lot of ATIS recordings are available via an automated phone number. I'm pretty sure Bounemouth's is 01202 364151 - that's the number I have used in the past.

METARS + NOTAMS

Hi there,

A current METAR will give you just as accurate information as an ATIS with regards to the weather, this will also advise you and give you a good clue of the surface wind and runway in use. The met office website can provide all this.

Any Notams affecting the airfield can be found online too.

Hope this helps.
