Begin to train, train to begin.
Just as a guide, after HSBC wussed out of the pilot market,
I was wondering how old were you guys when you A:Began b:Finished ATPL/ CPL Training? Cheers:ok: "I'd stay away from Dr Gonzo before he's had his breakfast, he's a VERY crude man!" |
A. 38
B. Yet to finish So far all paid for with blood, sweat and tears :} |
A) 20
B) Yet to finish, I'm 28 now, probably be 29 by the time I finish. Although in that time I have obtained an FAA CPL/IR SE ME and 600 hours. However it was only a few years ago whilst sat in front of the computer in work that I decided to make a career out of flying once and for all. |
starting next week
age 26 finish in 14 months approx (integrated training) bank loan through BVBA in Spain..... |
Started June 1998 - Aged 22
Finished PPL Summer 2000 ATPL Groundschool Spring 2001 - Spring 2003 CPL - Summer 2003 ME / IR - Summer 2004 MCC - Christmas 2004 Finished training - When I retire |
A) 1996 - Age 21 (PPL)
B) 2005 - Age 29 (CPL/IR/MEP/MCC) In between those 2 dates: I did a masters degree (in transport), worked my ass off (doing 12 hour days) to pay for flying and to save for the Ground Studies, CPL, IR, MEP & MCC. Completed the Gnd School between Jan 2002 and July 2004 (distance learning whilst still working). I bought a flat when market was at a low point in 1999, sold it not so long ago (and make a few bucks). And finally in 2005 I was able to afford to do CPL/IR/MEP/MCC back to back with 4 months leave of absence from work. I too won't finish training until I retire :E So it can be done HSBC or no-HSBC! |
