Brit studying in Australia wanting advice
Hi all
I am currently working towards my PPL, CPL, IR and Multi Engine in Sydney Australia. I have looked into converting these back in the UK, and know it is going to cost me another 15,000 and 14 repeated exams, which i am prepared to do. I am really after advice on the job situation back in the UK and the route to take. I will only have about 300 hours on my return at the end of the year. Any advice would be really appreciated Thanks ASH1 |
best i can think of is ppjn.com, seems very informative, and up to date, ive not heard any complaints about it. Its a good place to start i guess. Other than that, check out the airline websites.

Was wondering what the situation's like for JAA PPL holders to fly over in Australia.
I've just completed mine and for the next 2 years i'm hopin to live down under and build some hours while i'm there. Will I have to convert my licence and how much, on average, will an hour in a Warrior, for instance, set me back? Sorry to intrude on your post Ash1 but I wasn't sure where to post this question. Afraid i can't be of any help to your question.:ok: |
Go to the CASA website and it'll have the info you need regarding converting or using a JAA PPL in Oz. Note the bit about getting a form from the CAA.
Have a look here for an example of a popular school at Sydney, Bankstown. If you prefer a smaller organisation try Liverpool FlyingSchool at Hoxton Park. A smaller aerodrome near Sydney. I have used both for different parts of my flying and worked at LFS. |
Cheers redsnail. useful links.:ok:
