Working in the US with a JAA CPL FI(A)

I'm working towards my CPL & FI(A) rating in the UK. What would the requirements be if I were to seek work as an instructor in the US. Would it be a case of doing a CPL & FI conversion course or peraps doing full FAA courses for each?

Has anyone ever followed this route either full time or temporarily, or is it a completely ludicrous idea with no prospects for success??

Hi Topper
This has all been done on the forum before, but with no search function you are cut off from research.
In a nutshell - the FAA conversion requires that you take all the knowledge exams - CPL, IR & CFI (instructor) CFII (Instrument instructor) plus four flight tests with a fairly hefty oral exam prior to the test in each case.
That's the easy bit! THE HARD BIT is getting to use all of these in the US without a Green Card which is almost an impossibilty! Loads have tried it few have succeeded.
Good luck
