Lightbulb GCSE's/A-LEVELS/DIRECT ENTRY

I am currently heading towards a (frozen) ATPL and am half way through completing my PPL, of which I am funding myself. So the question arises, I am not after sponsorship so if I were to go in as a direct-entry pilot, would the airline still want an good level of education or would they not because I paid for the training myself. I am thinking of going back to college part-time to step-up my exams, although being 22 and owning a film production company doesn't leave much time.

Any idea?

Thanks
