is Question Banking usefull for Austro Control ECQB v6

Dear fellow students/pilots,

It has been 10 years since I've done my ATPL(H) with BGS and my exams at Heathrow with the UK CAA. At that time I understood the theory, but... I was amazed by the effect of working through the BGS database : >90% of the real exam questions could be found in the question datase.

This year I am doing my conversion course from (H) to (A) with Orbit/BGS. And I will probably do the exams with the Austro exam center in Arnhem. Apparently ECQB v6 is in use with Austro (and no quadrantal questions)

My question : are there any students that recently took ATPL exams with Austro, and can you give any tips or recommend a question database ? Apparently Aviation Exam (AvEx) and ATPLQuestions are suitable (whereas BGS is more appropriate for UK CAA)

Best regards to everybody in aviation, finding your way in the post-covid era.

I have no experience with Austro Control, but when I did my ATPL 3 years ago the general consensus was that, as you said, BGS was more suited for UK CAA exams and Aviation Exams for the rest of Europe. I had a positive experience with Aviation Exam and got 90+% average with it.

I'm guessing you managed to sit some exams under Austro Control? If so, do you know what bank would be suitable to use? There is a chance I may be in the same boat as you and am wanting to know what question bank would be most suitable for Austro Control.

Hi, I completed the exams abroad 5 years ago, but for a conversion of my ATPL to EASA I just completed all 14 Austro exams, using just Aviation Exam for revision. 98% of the questions were either exactly the same or just slightly reworded. Once you get started with the questions it comes back to you, running through one question bank will be plenty to revise for the exams.

It's also worth taking a look at the ATPL OnTrack question bank.
