The Symbiotics stuff is as close as you can get to the real thing so will set you up nicely for the day although expensive and you only get one go. My opinion is that SkyTest is better as you can go through it multiple times. If you have the money, have a go at the Symbiotics stuff and then choose the right tests from the SkyTest selection.

Thoughts on the CAE package on latestpilotjobs? Better or worse than Skytest?

You don't get the red dot test in the SkyTest package which is one of the tests you face and so would be good to practice that, although the ADAPT version is slightly different. I have done the Symbiotics ADAPT tests, but haven't done the CAE set so can't comment on if the LPJ package includes everything.

I just recently applied to CAE through a university and I'm booked to do the skills assessment test at the end of this month. I am not aware of much practice material, I am aware it is a test we cant prepare much on but I did notice online a lot of you discussing practices, and during that, a lot of things confused me. I wanted to know what the stages are since I am only aware of doing this test and medical as my pre-requisites. Can I also know some good practice materials, i am considering buying the latest jobs package as well as CAE maths and physics bundle. it would be great to get more information or tips and if there are any more practice materials that would be great too!

I have an exam in 2 weeks so have been studying my maths and physics for the last few weeks.

For those that have completed the stage 2 examination, or just have the information for this questions, to what extent is aviation knowledge tested? Is there a complete section on it and if so are there any specific topics you would recommend learning?

Aviation knowledge is not even tested at this stage, the most you can be asked regarding it is an easy acronym in the cognitive exercises. Maths and physics are easy, start with the difficult ones though. If you want a full review I made about stage 2 go to the thread the says "CAE skills assessment".

in January I might go troghut the ADAPT test in Oxford. anyway i've read and seen a lot of thing about the ADAPT test and I think that I understood the majority of the test, but still now I'm very confuse about the cognitive part (reasoning test). so if anyone that already did the adapt at CAE could explain me what I have to expect in that part. thank you people

Never mind sat the test now I know...for everyone else who stumbles across this wondering... pitch is normal joystick forward ball goes down as expected, however the yaw (x axis) is controlled by twisting the joystick and its in reverse twist left balls goes right and vice versa!

CAE ADAPT Test January

Hello everyone !

Anybody taking the CAE Assessment in January ? Would be good to chat ! I'm taking mine on the 22nd

And has anyone taken it recently ? Any feedback ? I've read that the hand/eye coordination has controls inverted for the roll and it's controlled by twisting the joystick...

As I'm practicing on latest pilot jobs, I'd like to know if the overall test is very similar, easier or harder than the actual ADAPT test....

latestpilotjobs helps but is not really the full picture, practice loads of speed distance time and speed distance time with fuel burn, be good with pythagoras, trigonometry, bearings, ratios, percentages ....physics be good at resistances/basic circuits,resistance formulas , V=IR etc etc, bernoulli's theorem, gas laws, the red dot is reversed on the x axis and is done by twisting the joystick. There are other tests like mathematical reasoning, visual reasoning Its not an easy test imho depending on how familiar you are with these subjects already will dictate the outcome, the adapt stuff you cant necessarily improve a great deal you either have it or dont for the most part. Check out sky test for the maths and physics

I have my stage 2 coming up in a couple days and was just wondering for the maths and physics test are you given a calculator and a formula sheet or do you have to memorise them. Also, is the maths and physics test multiple choice questions or not. Thanks

calculators are not allowed, there is a formula sheet but you should know some of the more basic ones like hooks law. I don't think that was there on the sheet all multiple choice... maths consists mostly of speed distance time and speed distance time with fuel burn problems with ever increasing difficulty I recommend starting at the harder questions first as they are worth the most marks and fairly essential to get a pass. Hi everyone,
I've passed my stage 2 assessments few months ago.
For the maths part : calculator aren't allowed, 20 questions in 30 minutes. The questions include speed-distance-time problems, speed-distance-time with fuel calculation ( fuel used = rate x time ), Pythagoras's theorem, heading (360° a full circle).
Be careful with the units (km/h, miles per hour, miles per minute, ...) and 1,5 hours = 1 hour and 30 min, don't forget to convert the time during calculations.
Check your answers if it makes sense with the question, and check the unit, for example : 45 lbs/min and not 45 min/lbs.
Some informations are given during the assessment, as speed-distance-time formula; 5 miles = 8 km; and 2,2 lbs = 1 kg.
For the physics part : calculator aren't allowed, 20 questions in 30 minutes. The questions include balancing weights, current and resistors, energy, and other topics but I don't really remember.
A paper with formulas are given : Current (amps) = Voltage (volts) / Resistance (ohms); weight = mass x gravity (gravity = 9,81 m/s^2); and other formulas.

As a current CAE student I could not give a stronger recommendation to avoid this place. Current students are being farmed out to Eastern European (non-CAE bases) where an ATPL costs significantly less. There are people in Oxford just now who have spent over 2 years on the course and still do not have a CPL.

At best, CAE have been disingeneous with their responses. If you know any current students then please ask them about their experiences of flight training.

i’m having my stage 2 cae exam (i’m doing it online) in a few days i was wondering if anyone like me has already done it online and if so could you tell me how are they organised? are they really strict? what are the rules etc..
anything would be really helpful, i’m really nervous... haha
