Poll: How long did it take to find a job? Or maybe still looking for one?

I wanted to create a poll but the feature is disabled.

So how many of you are still looking for a first pilot job? How long has it gone since you finished school?

OR

How long did it take to get the first job?

Edit: Your location?

Finished training in April 2007. Was offered 2 jobs within 6 weeks both paying for type rating, finally offered a job where I didn't pay for the type rating but bonded in June 2007..

Modular...Early 30's..All 1st time passes..worked hard and networked like hell to get my first job...Very glad I finished training last year and not this year...Believe there are jobs out there but don't envy anyone finishing now...

Finished MCC Feb 07, Job offer(TP) Oct 07 (into a holding pool) Start date Jan 08.
Instructed for 18 months in total, as i did my FIC straight after CPL (Jun 06) until i did the IR (Nov/Dec 06)

So some would say it took 8 months, others may say it took 18 months! theoretically i could only apply for airline jobs after the IR + MCC was done.

Training completed in South West England, my job is now in North East Scotland!

hope this helps,

ch

Remember when reading this that this was back when you could shake a tree and a pilot fell out.

Started training 91, CPL in 93, First job end of 93. From there moved up the GA pecking order and 8 years later scored my first Jet Job.

Finished everything roughly 12 months ago. Was offered 4 interviews this year, accepted 2, and now 'swimming' waiting for start dates. Turned the other 2 interviews down as financially I would have struggled.
