Florida Flying Schools?

somebody has mentioned that if you get your FAA PPL and clock up some hour building in florida (for example), these hours can't be counted in your JAA logbook, would this cause problems with potential employers i.e. having little flight experience in the UK if trying to get a job in the UK? it must be preferred to have hours in the UK but what if, for example, you had a CPL with 150 hours in a FAA logbook and 100 hours in your JAA logbook, would they both count??

Whilst it is best not not to jump around too much your first priority is not how to dress up your CV, rather, to get good value for your money.
If you begin your training at a school and you find that it is definitely not for you - you must change schools - otherwise you will waste time and money and you wil incur much aggravation upon yourself.
It i of little importance where you do your ATPL but for your own sake - best do it at a good school with a good database of questions - therefore Bristol is recommended strongly.
If you are asking about recommended schools - I only recommend from my past experience and you can see in my previous threads.
Regarding your last question - I cant answer - I dont know.

OBA All the way!
I am going out there in April to complete my PPL. I have spoken with them personally and regardless of what you hear they are one of the few FTO's who do 'exactly what it says on the tin' without any scary extras, for a set price.
Although it might be worth you doing your ground exams before you go?? More time to focus on the flying then, as if you only start reading the course literature when you get there, theres a possibility you might not grasp every single aspect of all the subjects with a decent amount of knowledge under your belt (There will be people who can, so please excuse me), I just know to complete all the flying and ground exams in the 21 days they give you 'is' fairly intense. So really if you do the exams before you go you are making life easier for yourself!
Also it will make you become a better pilot by understanding it all more, and makes for safer aviating! (Also will help you if you intend on studying for the ATPL exams).
Theres pros and cons with everything these days!
Do whats right for you, and do LOTS of research

I too was looking at doing a PPL at OBA and doing the theory before hand. They have a PPL set price of just under £4000 which includes the PPL theory lessons and study material. So if one was to do the theory beforehand would there be a discount on the price. Also they say you can do it in 21 days...surly including the theory training and exams. So if one was to do the theory before hand they'd be able to complete the OBA, flying, part of the course in a shorter length of time (presuming that they do it in the minimum hours)

I'm booked to go out to OBA in November, just waiting to go to my Embassy interview.
They no longer provide you with study material and there is no discount for completing the exams in the UK prior to commencing your training. I've already asked these questions. I think 21 days is the absolute minimum to complete the PPL, regardless of theory.
I'll let you know how I get on.

Hours you do in the USA are perfectly good for JAA and the opposite
There is no such thing as safety pilot time in JAA, so if you logged anytime as safety pilot - you cannot log this at all under JAA.
Also all training is Dual in JAA regardless of whether you are all ready rated on the aircraft.
Therefore PIC hours technically aren't logged the same and may not be valid in JAA.

Is there a source which can explain this a bit more detailed?
Why he didn't continue his career in the airline industry following Capital's demise is subject to many rumours, many of which I'm sure you will hear if/when you go to OBA.
