US Schools for fATPL - where's the catch?
JAA PPL to fATPL in 10 weeks - Where's the catch?
I have looked at a couple of US-based schools on the net, namely EFT and Angel City Flyers:

I was wondering what the catch was at AFC since they claim to take you from JAA PPL to fATPL (JAA & FAA) for £13800 in 10 weeks! It appears the main element lacking are the JAA ATPL exams which cost around £800.
EFT seem to offer a modular joint JAA & FAA fATPL for $26000, which lasts a more realistic 50+ weeks.
I know there are potential nightmares with US JAA IR courses, so would be gratfeul for any comments regarding these schools .

Use the search facility (at a quiet time of day, when it is still available) to find the answer to your title question. There are catches to balance against the reduction in costs. I can't comment myself, as I work for the competition, and have never done JAA-approved course in the US.
