Rf3

I have been having the occasional thought about changing my Jodel for an RF3 to use as geriatric transport, but I know very little about them. Any good info out there?

Croqueteer,

Email me, and I can put you in touch with someone with a lot of experience with RF3s!

Aerobatic Flyer 16th June 2003 20:05

Never tried an RF3, but used to part-own an RF4.

It was enormous fun to fly, very responsive, fast for its power (90kts), was aerobatic (which the RF3 isn't), had superb visibility and could just about be soared.

On the down side, it wasn't very roomy, it had no carb heat but had an ice-prone engine, hads a large turning circle which can make ground handling awkward, and it seemed abnormally prone to hangar rash....

The previous owner of mine had obviously used it for touring, as it had been fitted with blind flying instruments (venturi driven) and a VOR. Don't know where he put the luggage, though.
