bi-annual in UK

Just a quick question, If you have an FAA licence based on your CAA licence do you need to have a bi-annual flight review to fly an N reg aircraft outside the UK eg. Europe?

If you wish to exercise the privilages of your US licence you are subject to the FAA Biennial Flight Review.

These are not difficult or expensive to obtain in the UK.

An Add on. Spoke to the CAA and as long as your UK/JAR licence is current then so is your FAA. You don't have to have a bi-annual from the FAA to fly N reg in or outside the UK! Unless you are in the states!

The CAA is not authoritative so far as the validity of the FAA Private Pilots Certificate is concerned.

If you fly an aircraft under circumstances in which your FAA licence validity is a requirement (such as N reg outside the UK), then you will be in violation if you do not have a current BFR.
