Flying the Pacific in a PA32-300
 

Myself and another pilot are flying a Piper Cherokee Six PA32-300 across the Pacific. We have a 150USGAL ferry tank installed and interested to hear from anyone who has done it in this aircraft. We are keen to get comments as to how much we can overload the aircraft to remain within safe limits. The are 2 POB.

You can read some interesting stuff. The PA28 they flew over was 10% overweight and as they state 'allowable' I take it that someone can give you dispensation for overgross operation.

I believe that Andy Bruce at FarNorth is also a fond of information he is at Wick. He is a very friendly and helpful figure and am pretty sure that he would be willing to give further advice. He was certainly a great help when we went there last year on our way to Iceland.

I don't know myself mate, but checkout http://www.earthrounders.com/ - you can lookup all the people who've done round-the-world flights and although ost of the information seems to be on how to obtain clearances, I bet you can find out about tanks, weight etc. there too.
