Is the jet engine correctly placed to award the pilot with the non-lehtal version of the Darwin award after a blade shed?

Am I unkind to suggest the word 'kamikaze' ? But good luck to him, my flying days long gone but all respect to those who fly for the sheer fun of it.

I'm guessing it's a ram-jet hence there will be no blades to shed.

This particular aviation enthusiast from Japan evidently had a burning need to replicate a fictional aircraft from a Studio Ghibli anime move called "Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind" (1984). Google around a bit and you can easily find images of this jet powered glider. In the movie, it had mostly weight shift flight controls that turned out to be far less effective than the movie implied, leading to a lot of modifications on the "real" one to make it safely controllable. It was named Mehve in the movie.
