Hi some advice please
I have a non Uk easa pplh with a non uk class 2 medical ,I also have a old type non expiring Uk ppl which I havnt used for a long time

Is it possible to transfer a type rating from my easa licence to the CAA one?

Hello MD600Driver,

Why do you want / need a UK EASA licence?

You will find that all EASA licences are as valid as one another, so your French / Spanish / Italian (or wherever) EASA licence, and medical are as valid as a UK issued EASA licences. The only difference is that when you undertake further training, and/or revalidations/renewals you will need to apply to your respective issuing authority (ie: French DGAC rather than UK CAA).

Please note that if you hold a German issued licence, you will not be able to get your medical records transferred due to their data protection act - but I think there is a way around that.

Hi Alex I don’t think you understood what I wanted. I don’t want a Uk easa licence I already have a non Uk easa licence , I also have a non Uk easa medical and don’t want to change that. What I am wanting is to use my old Uk CAA licence to fly other Uk registered annex 11 aircraft in the Uk
I have a easa type rating that allows me to fly easa types but this aircraft type Alouette has some models which are annex 11 and some which are EASA types

I think that the type rating is transferable to your CAA licence but you may have to find a U.K. examiner for the LPC, if any in fact exist. I also think that you can now use a self declaration medical to support the U.K. licence so that would not be an issue. I doubt you will find anybody at the CAA who will be able to answer the questions though. Good luck!

Thanks I don’t think there’s anyone that can do a LPC in Uk . Without special permission from the CAA shame because I do every year a type rating check on Alouette with a easa examiner

Surely the CAA will accept an LPC done by an EASA examiner to give you the type on your CAA licence?

EASA licences are valid for G-reg Annexe II aircraft in the UK. If your non-UK licence allows you fly the particular type, you can fly the same G-reg type in the UK without any further bureaucracy.

After reading the latest ORSA 1260
It only relates to single engine piston helicopter 2000 kg or less
Not a turbine so it looks that you can only use a exemption if it’s a piston heli
