Rockwell Commander
I was reading in Todays Pilot yesterday about the Rockwell Commander, and I must say I was really pretty impressed with it.
Has anyone ever flown/owned/been in a commander? By the looks of things- commanders tend to retain their value aswell, with a 1970's version being between 50-80K. Anyone? |
Nice and comfy inside with plenty of space. But the 112A really likes runways and is a bit of a ground gripper with a rather sedate rate of climb. But once set up in the cruise with the cowl flaps regulating CHT, mixture set to give the right EGT and the prop and throttle set to optimum cruise economy, it purrs along and is nice and stable, particularly for IF.
AND it's got doors on both sides! |
... and the 114 has some extra grunt which helps take off, climb and cruise performance ... although adds to its thirst.
