FI on a PPL

Hi,

I am looking at doing the FI course (am currently a CRI), I wondered if anyone has done the FI course on a part time basis vs as most advertise as full time 6 weeks. If so how long did it take to complete on a part time basis? what was the structure of the course. I have access to my own PA28 which could be used as the flight training section.

I am currently doing the CPL exams, for the main requirement of FI entry, everything else I meet the requirements.

The other dilemma is to just do the CPL then FI or just go for the PPL / FI, my understand that you can just do this on a Class 2 medical vs the CPL route which require to hold a Class 1.

You don't need to have the CPL theoretical knowledge passes if you are to teach only the LAPL and NPPL... So maybe knock the FI off first, teach those licences to gain experience and worry about the CPL knowledge later?

You'll still be allowed to be paid, and will only require a Class 2 medical.

But will you be able to find much LAPL and NPPL work?

Yes thanks, been doing it full-time for almost 3 years now.

Just intrested to know has anyone done the FI course part time, if so how was it and how long did it take? as most training schools seem only to offer it as a 6 week intensive course?

Great!
I had no idea there was such a market, for the LAPL especially.(most of the NPPLs I know are ex PPL failed medicals)

Andrewsfield Aviation do part time courses to fit round people's jobs, how long is down to the time you can make available and of course the weather.

Instructing was the most satisfying job I ever had in aviation and I will renew through Andrewsfield one day and go back to it.

Talk to OnTrack at Wellesbourne. I did it that way with them and I know others who have done the same.
