After 5 years of trying I have finally rented a plane in Barbados and flown around the island!
The Barbados Light Aeroplane Club have a c152 and have just brought a 2003 c172sp over from Miami and it's awesome! I have a 70 hour British PPL so went up with a club member both flights (a clockwise lap and an anti clockwise lap) and logged P1US. I am told that you can spend a day trying to get the authorities to validate your licence and then the member may get out! Also if you fancy 100 miles over water and can find a member to come too, you can visit Bequia, St. Vincent or others. 350 Barbados dollars/hour wet for the 152 550 Barbados dollars/hour wet for the 172 100 Barbados dollars/hour for the member's time Call Bill Chandler: 1-246-231-0569 Final into Grantley Adams https://www.dropbox.com/s/5z9d55asa2...62993.JPG?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/5z9d55asa2...62993.JPG?dl=0 Harry. |
Sounds like a nice trip, looking forward to the photos. Eye-watering prices though!
You might like to consider changing your logbook however - P1/US is only to be logged for a successful flight test which this presumably wasn't. If the club member was an Instructor you could log P/UT and record the hours as dual; if he wasn't then I'm afraid you were just a passenger. |
Many thanks for the advice, I'll ask. That dropbox link appears to be working.
2 Barbados dollars=1 US dollar (fixed) Approx £1=3.3 Barbados dollars (at the moment) Therefore the c172 all in @ 650 Barbados dollars is approximately £195. If the Scottish vote no on Thursday, perhaps it'll get a little cheaper! H |
