Hello everyone,

Thanks for the interesting tips to all PPRuNers above.

I have just purchased my first GoPro Hero 3.

I am looking around for accessories and soon realised that you can buy identical items on other sites for a much cheaper price tag than what you can find on the GoPro website.

I am looking for two main items in particular:

1) Headstrap (found one on lightinthebox for £5), and

2) a good method to record comms inflight that actually works.

Regarding 2), I have come across some guy (https://flywithstan.com/) regarding connecting all audio using a very cheap method.

Has anyone tried and tested this method as I have seen mixed reviews. Also regarding the the headstrap, does anyone recommend a particular one?

You're just in time for the new CAA regulations. You can get advice on all your questions from the Licenced Engineer who checks and approves your installation.:E

I was under the impression that (for now) this only applied to Annex 2/Non-EASA aircraft?

I read it as LAA Permit aircraft were waiting for the LAA to issue instructions. So I thought the CAA regulation applied to EASA aircraft. I'll read it again.

I was wrong. But for LAA Permit Aircraft, consult the LAA.

This policy is applicable tonon-EASA GA aircraft that are subject to UK CAA regulatory oversight,

The LAA are due to publish adraft Technical Leaflet TL3.24 “CAMERA INSTALLATIONS.
