Flying in Australia
In August, I will be going to Australia. I haven't started flying training yet, as I don't have the time or money, as I am about to do my AS level exams. However, I have found that training over there is much cheaper than in the UK and was wondering if I would be able to do a few hours (perhaps 8 to 10 hours) and count it towards a JAA-PPL.
Would there be lots of paperwork involved on return, and a CAA charge for shuffling a few pieces of paper or is it a case of simply getting a log book and going? Any help and/or advice would be very welcome. Thanks! |
Danny, drop me an e-mail as I am in the process of setting up a JAR approved flying school in Australia. From what you have said you would be better doing the training under JAR if you intend to be issued with a JAR FCL. If you did some hours at a non approved flight school the hours would not count towards the minimum 45 hours required for a JAR PPL.
