Airways to Jersey

Anyone got any tips on airways trips to Jersey?

I'm Biggin based and am interested in going there by the direct route. I'd also appreciate it if anyone has any experience of routings with an initial non-airways portion as I don't really want to fly the round-the-houses Biggin SID.

I was thinking of BIG - OCK - MID - airways join - SAM - JSY.

That routing worked fine for me last week. Farnborough negotiated the entry to controlled airspace with London.
