SSEA NPPL to Microlight
 

I am a holder of a valid NPPL with SSEA class rating. I am looking to go fly 3 axis fixed wing micros (CTSW) for the foreseeable future as I am finding the cost of hiring from a flight school is suffocating my opportunity to build experience further at a sensible price.

So aside from the obvious differences training, what is involved in getting my Microlight class rating? I was told it is just case of an oral exam and GST.

Thanks for the reply, this was the document I wanted but could not find it for the life of me!

So does anyone know if it is a simple case of the examiner signing my license class rating sheet or is it an exercise of sending paper work away as well?

For NPPL it's a paperwork job as NPPLCo have to add the rating to your licence.

I've been teaching on a CTSW just lately and you'll enjoy it. Roomier, better view, better performance and at-least as good handling as anything you're likely to have flown before. Vastly superior to pretty much any common club light aeroplane in any respect except payload (which is not its strong point).

You will need to send this form: http://www.nationalprivatepilotslice...Microlight.pdf to the BMAA, plus £75 and the documents listed.

An Examiner my only sign for renewals or revalidations, not initial issues.
