FAA CPL/IR
 

Hello to at all.
As a relatively newbie to flying, can any of the more experienced aviators out there, help me out with this one.

Is it possible to fly in the UK as an Instructor for PPL with and FAAPPL/ CPL/IR or do you have to convert to JAA and if so what is involved in the conversion.
Apologies if this has been covered elsewhere and appears basic, but as mentioned I am new to all this!!

Short answer is NO if you want to instruct towards JAA/EASA papers.

You need a JAA FI, and if you want to get paid for it you also need a JAA CPL.

An FAA CPL cannot instruct anywhere anyway; he needs to be a CFI or CFII. Such an instructor can instruct towards FAA papers, anywhere in the world, subject to any local airspace regulations e.g. in UK airspace you need a JAA CPL if you are getting paid for the flying instruction.
