Challenge 1932
Hi!
Next year I'm going to fly across Europe following the route which pilots in Challenge 1932 flew. It goes like this: Berlin-Warsaw-Cracow-Prague-Vienna-Zagreb-Vicenza-Rimini-Rome-Bellinzona-Cannes-Lyon-Stuttgart-Bonn-Paris-Rotterdam-Hamburg-Goteborg-Berlin could you help me and tell where can I find some information on the route? I would like to chcek the route before I buy maps becouse I want to buy new ones, next year. In Poland we have AIP on the internet, it is obviously not for operational use but most information is up to date. Does it work in your countries too? And do you know if I can find anywhere prices of avgass on these european airports? |
I would like to chcek the route before I buy maps becouse I want to buy new ones, next year. SkyDemon Light That should give you an idea about distances, airspace and such. PM me if you need help in Rotterdam. That's where I am based. In Poland we have AIP on the internet, it is obviously not for operational use but most information is up to date. Does it work in your countries too? Anyway, most European countries put the AIP online (Germany is one exception I know of). You can either go to each countries CAA site, or whoever handles the dissemination of aeronautical information. But for these sort of things, Eurocontrol is a much easier source. You are going to need to create an account for "EAD Basic", then look for an application called PAMS Light. It essentially contains all the CIV and MIL AIPs for Europe, insofar they're available publicly. EUROCONTROL - The European AIS Database: Introduction to EAD Basic - Home |
SkyDemon Light, while neat, is only for the UK. You can download a trial of the full software (which charts up to the east side of Poland) from www.skydemon.aero.

Thank you!
I'va already created an account checked all the sites. They're really helpful. Concerning maps- I know their cost will be marginal, I just don't want to buy ones from this year becouse I won't use them. Germany is not a problem- I have their maps. Surprisingly, its the most common foreign destination from Poland:) and our AIP- nobody knows why it's not operational- it is far more up to date the printed version. Thank you for help. BackPacker if I finally make the trip, I'll contact you. |
