US IR in UK
 

Does anyone have any suggestions as to whether any UK flight schools are offering availability of US IR courses in the UK.

Alternatively a US CFII willing to give IR practical instruction in an N-reg aircraft in the UK.

I know that its cheaper to fly to the US but. .its certainly less convenient...

Hi,. . Try American Flight Training at Norwich Airport,will do exam and flight training on a `N`reg,but i think you have to do the check ride in the USA not sure.. .Speak to Tom 01603 301902. .In case you are wondering,no i don`t work there <img src="smile.gif" border="0">

I can second Mad-Andy reccommendation - Tom is a nice bloke who tells it like it is. Used him for my writtens before going to the US to undertake the IR.

When I was there he wasinvesting quite a bit of money in planes and getting them A1 for students. he also has a sim so that will save you a bit of money as you can count about 15-20hours sim time (not sure exact figures as did all mine in the plane), to your IR.

Yes, you need to wait until your licence is through from the FAA(the CAA will not accept your pass slip) and then send it all off again with your £64 and bingo! IMC added to your licence!!

Takes about 6 weeks for the FAA to process.
