IR in USA

I visited California in September to try to do an FAA IR - that didn't work out entirely. :(

I'm looking to complete it in Feb/March this year, probably in Florida cos it's nearer. I think a few hours flying and some "checkride prep" is needed.

I'd like to try to get an FAA CPL too - if time will permit. I have the written for that (and for the IR). Otherwise, maybe an FAA PPL.

Anyone recommend a school in Florida, preferably with Pipers (cos I fly an Arrow here)? Anyone "not" recommend any? (I've had horror stories about a couple, from friends who went there to try to fly).

The one US school which gets consistently good reviews is Naples Air Centre. There's been a recent thread on them in the Wannabes forum. Went there myself for a week. Seemed to be well run and honest. Probably worth checking out, although I have a feeling they've only got one Piper single.

Thanks for that! Yes, I got similar comments offlist from others who've been there. I e-mailed them last night and got a very sensible and full reply today.

Looks like I'll be in Naples in Feb/March!

Wrong Stuff...well named....NAC have at least three Warriors and (access to) an arrow....along with a Seminole, a Chieftain (3 ton, 10 seater) and a fleet load of Cessnas (but who cares about them...let's talk about real planes...with Piper written on the instrument panel!!). :D :D :D
