ANY HARVARD PILOTS??

Would anyone who flies the Harvard advise me whether it is considered to be in the JAR 'Single Engine Piston (Land) Class' or whether it is considered to be a Type requiring a specific Type Rating.

Only ask because I may need to conduct a Proficiency Check in one....

As far as I'm aware it's below 5.7 therefore SEPL applies. I can't think of any silly systems that might shifted to an 'exempted' class.

Cheers

Hi BEagle.
Yep, as far as I'm aware, if your SEP(Land) is still current, you're OK.
Would still be a good idea to have a check-ride if its been 12 months or more though, wouldn't it?
If you're stuck for an aircraft, I'm sure Andrew Edie can oblige.
BTW, I'm green with envy. Can't afford my check - I've just renewed my IR ! Get's expensive now I'm self-employed !!

Rgds, Sleeve. ;)

PS. Sorry, BEagle. Just noticed you're CONDUCTING the check so just confirming the legality. Forget Andrew (!) - how much are you charging !!! :) :D

If I get the chance to sit in the back of the Harvard to conduct a SEP revalidation proficiency check, I'll be charging no more than one whole penny for the trip.............

Fly the finest
If you can't, then Fly Navy.

Thanks for that.
If I can find a spare cab, you're on.
Not too embarrassing to fly with the Senior Service then ??
Sleeve. ;)

No snags mate! My first service flight was in an 892 Sqn Vixen - the RN could manage that but the RAF couldn't even sort me out with an AEF Chipmunk ride as my school only had an army CCF section!

A Chippie would be fine...particularly if we could do the circuits at Merryfield!!
