Radio licence in USA

New here - so please be patient!

If I obtain a Section 61.75 USA certificate on the basis of my JAA PPL then what happens about the radio licence? Is this covered or do I need a US licence as well and if so how do I get one?

I've had a go at searching for info about this on PPRuNe but couldn't find anything so perhaps some kind expert could advise?

Thanks

If you fly in the USA with your FAA Pilot Certificate, no radio licence is required however once you leave the USA a FCC Radio Certificate is required. You apply using Form 605

And to get that FCC radio license you only have to pay (assuming you hold a PPL).
