....and the next one please!

It's 'lets-try-and-have-a-flyin' time again

We haven't not had a flyin for weeks now.

Two or three of us have had a go at setting it up, but we've all been beaten by the weather each time.

Leicester, being fairly central and boasting a metalled runway (good) and a bacon buttie facility (better) would get my vote? Anyone willing to take on the arrangements - venue, dates, times etc?
Whirly - how about it? :)

Weather and work commitments willing, I'll be happy to pop up to EGBG.

Why not count me in

Now I'm new to this, but it sounds like a great idea!

How about in between Christmas and New Year - 27th with 28th as a backup - 1300Z arrival for those bacon butties?

Sorry if I'm stamping on previous protocol, but this is far too exciting to waste time over

Leicester - hmmm... that'll be the place where the RT frequency is maintained for pilots to discuss their holiday plans, job woes, plans for the weekend.

rightstuffer, you're much better at organising fly-ins than I am; you've had so much practice :)

Good idea though, and it might even happen this time. If it's Leicester I could perhaps have a nostalgic look at Birmingham City Centre - but maybe I should ask for permission this time :)

But I think I still prefer the idea of Kemble.

Just a tip for Whirly: if you come by helicopter it'll save you getting lost on the taxiways... ;) ;)

Seriously, sorry I can't be there, the Cessna's in bits in the garage (towed it home behind the Cavalier), and it's too damn cold for the microlight (and too dear for the Robo).

Rob_L,

Jeez, has EVERYONE read my article and realised it's me? http://www.pprune.org/ubb/NonCGI/eek.gif

Why do you think I prefer helicopters? :) If it all looks just too confusing on the ground, I call the tower and ask if they mind terribly much if I just point into wind and take off from wherever I happen to be. I jumped a queue of about 10 aircraft leaving a fly-in once by doing that :) :) :)

Whirly :

Your post some time ago where you said you got tipsy on the proceeds of writing an ILAFFT article for Pilot might have given the game away. :)
