PPL exams ???

Something thats really buggin me... If you fail one of the PPL exams.. can u resit it? and if u can, how long does it take before u can do this?

Oh by the way if Henri is reading HI http://www.pprune.org/ubb/NonCGI/tongue.gif

you can certainly resit - I think straight away, though this is probably not recommended
(its a different paper)
If you resit twice I think you are then into a new ball game.

Well, I think it used to be the case that after the third failure you had to go to Gatwick to resit, as there were only three different papers. But that was pre-JAR so it could have changed. And actually I knew someone when I was doing my PPL who failed Air Law three times, and the CAA sent a paper up to Welshpool for his 4th attempt - which he passed.

I've just asked a Belgrano chum about this. Whereas the CAA sent out a letter stating that you had to wait 2 weeks after failing a paper before you could resit another paper on the same topic and that you would have to wait another 4 weeks if you failed it again, they have softened this now, so that resits are 'at the Examiner's discretion'. However, fail any paper 3 times and you will have to wait 3 months before taking any other exams. You will have to obtain a certificate signed by your CFI saying that you are ready to attempt a further exam, pay a fee to the CAA and take the exam either at Gatwick or at your nearest regional exam centre.
So study those books!!
